What are the link requirements for adding/editing artists?
Viberate Pages are equipped with social media (Instagram, Twitter, etc.) and music links (Spotify, Beatport, etc.) that lead to the artist's official channels. Linking the correct channels is very important. They provide the content displayed on the Artist Pages and allow us to calculate and monitor an artist's performance across various channels. Make sure you add as many channels as possible.
When adding or editing Artist Pages, stick to the requirements in this section. If you're new to our contribution system, take a few minutes and read through the content below, as well as the general guidelines and content requirements.
Below you'll find the general rules for adding/editing links, plus link requirements and examples for each channel. See how the links should look on this page.
GENERAL RULES:
Search for active artists' channels across all possible social media and music services. If you’re adding or editing a band, you need to pay attention and only add links that belong to the band as a whole, not individual band members.
▪ All links should be active and display content.
▪ All channels should belong to the artist you are adding/editing.
▪ The last post on each social media channel should not be older than 3 years.
▪ Insert the most basic/shortest URL form possible. See the example below:
▪ While editing, replace incorrect or broken links (if you can’t find replacements, leave the placeholders empty).
▪ While editing, don’t remove the existing links on pages if they are correct (belong to the artist, display content), even if the content is outdated (more than 3 years old).
Don't add:
▪ personal Facebook profiles,
▪ search results,
▪ individual videos/tracks/songs,
▪ auto-generated channels (e.g., YouTube "Topic" channels),
▪ fan-made channels,
▪ playlists,
▪ podcasts,
▪ albums,
▪ record label channels,
▪ Instagram tag/location pages.
